International Reds


The new Barclays Premier League season may be a matter of days away but, first, there's an international schedule to fit in this Wednesday.
Consequently, a number of Reds will be away this week representing their countries with Tom Cleverley elevated to the full England squad for the first time by Fabio Capello. However, Michael Carrick is out and there's a doubt overDanny Welbeck earning his second cap in the friendly against Holland.
"Danny got an ankle injury towards the end [on Sunday]," said the boss. "England will have to assess whether he is going to be fit for Wednesday."
Wayne RooneyRio Ferdinand andAshley Young are also included in Capello's squad.
Jonny Evans has the serious matter of European Championship qualifying to look forward to as Northern Ireland entertain Faroe Islands while there are some high-profile friendlies taking place across Europe.
Darron Gibson is in the Republic of Ireland party for the Dublin encounter against Croatia, while Anders Lindegaard could add to his four caps for Denmark when the Danes travel to Glasgow to face Scotland but there's noDarren Fletcher in the home side's squad as he continues to regain full fitness.
Nemanja Vidic is set for a return to Russia with Serbia and Nani is in Portugal's plans for the fixture with Luxembourg in Faro. Mame Biram Diouf, who scored twice in Paul Scholes' testimonial, was called up to Senegal's squad for their clash with Morocco, but Javier Hernandez andAntonio Valencia will miss Mexico and Ecuador's games due to injury.
Brazil coach Mano Menezes did not nameAndersonFabio or Rafael in his squad for the international with Germany.
Robbie Brady (Republic of Ireland),Oliver Norwood (Northern Ireland) andFederico Macheda are all on Under-21 duty.
